A spectacle of English maritime history. 90% of the ship today is original after a huge restoration project. It's a stunning sight as you arrive in Greenwich.

The Cutty Sark, a historic British clipper ship, is a must-visit for anyone interested in maritime history. Located in Greenwich, London. This was one of the fastest ships of its time, primarily used for transporting tea from China. Wool from Australia. The exhibits onboard provide detailed insights into its storied past and the lives of the sailors who manned it. While efforts have been made to make the Cutty Sark accessible, some areas of the ship may still be challenging for visitors with mobility issues. I have planned the day with Royal observatory first stayed there till 1pm, walked to Greenwich market area had lunch and from there visited The Cutty Sark at 3pm. After Cutty sark we took a boat to London Bridge. As a popular tourist attraction and it was weekend, I expected it to be crowded, but it was ok, not over crowded. Visiting the Cutty Sark is a delightful journey back in time. The combination of historical significance, interactive exhibits, and beautiful surroundings makes it a highly recommended destination for both locals and tourists. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a unique day out, the Cutty Sark won't disappoint.

I found it a fascinating and interesting visit, being in situ on a ship of this type can be quite evocative of what it must have been like to experience life as a sailor. It’s not huge by any means, but its setting in Greenwich feels very appropriate and I think it makes up an essential part of a visit to the area. I bought 2-4-1 tickets with the National Rail Days Out Guide scheme, which made it better value, booking in advance saved on a fair bit of queuing.

We went on a Sunday afternoon in the first week of March and it was a sunny if slightly blustery day. The sun had clearly bought out lots of people as it was very busy there. It's easy to get to most places of interest from the cutty sark like Greenwich park where you can see the prime meridian line, and the royal observatory, along with various museums also being within easy walking distance. Of course there are lots of crowds during the warmer weather and finding a place to eat that's not already full of people is a challenge. My one moan would be about the train station. The Greenwich cutty sark station for some reason, only has one machine for you to tap in and out with your oyster card, which leads to massive backlogs of people. So be warned.

The Cutty Sark is one of the most iconic and historically significant vessels in London. This famous clipper ship, built in 1869, was formerly used to transport tea and other goods, and is now a museum located in Greenwich, in the heart of London's Waterfront.

The Cutty Sark was really interesting. I did feel like a 43 year old on a school trip, but probably appreciated and understood more now, than I would of when I was 7 or 8...
